Building Confidence Through Play
Aug 12, 2025
Why our classrooms look more like a playground than a lecture hall — and why that's the point.
Play is the work of childhood. When a child stacks blocks, negotiates a turn on the slide, or invents a game with new rules, they're practising the exact skills that show up later as focus, patience, and problem-solving.
We plan for it, on purpose. Every activity in our day is chosen for the skill hiding inside the fun — counting is a scavenger hunt, letters are a treasure map.
Confidence comes from small wins. A child who succeeds at something playful and low-stakes today walks into a harder challenge tomorrow already believing they can.
